Mr Natty was originally the cheery moniker of Mr Matt Raine, a classically trained British Royal Court barber and hairdresser to celebrities and fashion clients in the menswear editorial and advertising industry. One day, putting his mind to good use, he struck upon the notion of utilising the extensive knowledge he had gained over his years of cutting and styling the great and the good (and the not so good). The inspiration that struck him was to create some men’s grooming products. How many he did not know, but he knew he needed someone to help out...
... to this end he asked Mr Matt Brooke (who was sitting next to him on a plane at the time). This was not by chance: they did this a lot (they were not pilots or air hostesses in case you are wondering). Matt B is a creative director and photographer, who had chalked up a fair few air miles travelling the globe with Mr Raine (because when they went on long trips shooting fashion campaigns and he needed someone who could tell a good joke to come along for the ride). Together they hatched a plan on the back of duty free brochure high above the Atlantic: they would create an ever-evolving range of products for fellas who appreciate authenticity, originality and a little bit of humour in their daily grooming regime. Why? Because everything seemed quite dull and they wanted something to make them smile first thing in the morning and last thing at night (that was cracking product too).
Bar a couple of things Mr Natty products are sourced and produced in England. Where possible, we strive to make our products naturally and with recyclable packaging. A quarter of our range is made from 100% natural ingredients. Look out for the call outs on each page with a little green leaf. We believe our products are the best, otherwise we might as well pack up and go home. If you agree. let us know (or share on your Insta). If you've any questions just drop us a line at email@example.com We are more than happy to have a little chinwag. Should you not like anything just let us know, we're very nice (and there's no point being mean on social media - it's not a good look).
Our motto is 'made by a barber, used by a barber' – we have other ones but that's the one we can print – and if you fancy a trim keep a look out for our travelling barber shop which, be warned, can pop up pretty much anywhere on the globe when you're not looking. Should you be in New York pop into @tuftbarber in the Lower East Side for a trim and some chit chat: Mr Natty will be there. If you're in London don't call the other Matt, he can't cut hair for toffee but is handy with camera and a bit of packaging design.
